EXCELTA - April 2013 Newsletter

Excelta was proud to participate in the 2013 Walk to Defeat ALS.

ALS Walk1

Excelta was proud not only to walk,

but to be the number one fundraiser this year. Yay Team Excelta!

ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease is a fatal, neurodegenerative disease for which there are no known effective treatments or cures, and the average life expectancy is two to five years from time of diagnosis. ALS robs you of the ability to swallow, speak, move, and breathe. Every day an average of 15 people are diagnosed with ALS in the United States, and more than 5,600 people are diagnosed each year. Established in 1985, The ALS Association is the only non-profit organization fighting ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease on every front, and their mission is to lead the fight to cure and treat ALS through global cutting edge research. The ALS Association empowers people with ALS and their families to live fuller lives by providing them compassionate care and support. We here at Excelta have personally been touched by losing two dear friends to this terrible disease, and we hope to continue our mission to help in every way we can.

Employee Spotlight:

Excelta Welcomes
Jason Dalseme to Sales & Marketing Team
Jason Dalseme
Jason Dalseme, grandson of the late founder of Excelta Jerome Dalseme, has joined Excelta full time!  For the past ten years, Jason has been the Director of Sales for Prince Lionheart, a leading juvenile products manufacturing company with offices in the U.S. and Europe.  While managing the strategic business with major retailers, Jason has also been sitting on Excelta's Board of Directors since 2011, as part owner.

Under the direction and supervision of industry sales-legend, Greg Johnson,  Jason is embracing his new role at Excelta and says, "precision instruments are in my blood, and it is such an honor to be working alongside family and the passionate employees of the Excelta team!" We are thrilled to have him bring new ideas and strategies with his complimentary skill set to Excelta's sales force.

While attending UCSB, Jason fell in love with his college town of Santa Barbara and decided that's where he was to plant his roots. Jason has a love of the ocean, anything outdoors, is an avid marathoner and a semi-health addict...that is, when he isn't drinking diet sodas and enjoying his love of wine!  His daily ritual after work includes going to the gym, and playing basketball well into the evening. He's a go-getter on and off the court, so "Go Get 'em Jason!"

Congratulations! We are honored to have you!

High Precision Peek Probes

In our new catalog on page 105 you'll notice our new High Precision Peek Probes.  These are multi-purpose for both electronics and bio-chemistry applications.  These probes are made from PEEK, a high temperature thermoplastic which is inert to all common solvents and has a temperature resistance of 249C (480F).

We've noticed several companies using the 2A-SA to open cell phone cases when being repaired.  The problem with the 2A-SA is it scratches the case!  The 336C-SD is ideal for this particular situation.  It has one flat fine tip and one flat fine sharp tip, so depending on the space between the case compartments, you have two different sizes to try.

Give these Precision Peek Probes a look-see!
